Our team here at Glezen’s Power Equipment is tight knit. We feel like when we’re coming to work it is our second family. We want that relationship to translate into better communication and better service. If you were to walk in off the street and not know anything about us, you may think we are a little weird. We laugh a lot, we have many inside jokes and we enjoy coming to work.
When we look to hire someone and add to our team, we are far more interested in culture than we are about aptitude. Aptitude is important but it can be taught, care and dedication cannot. We believe that if someone has the same heart for a customer, that is harder to find and is not something we can teach. When someone hears our mission statement and core values, they should be moved. If they aren't, it's likely not a good fit. We look for people that want to help. We look for people that won't give up easily, effort means everything to us.
We strive for excellence in everything we do. Every year we change how we are doing something simply on the premise of doing it better. From implementing a new computer system to better track our sold and repaired units, to providing binders to better organize customer’s owners manuals. We don't hold back when it comes to new ideas to better serve. Our team is problem solvers, and we love that.
Dan Sr and Florence built their business around service. Our service team is as powerful as it has ever been. Everyday it seems like we are learning something new and providing a new service. Whether it is servicing the transmissions on a commercial Altoz zero turn or updating the firmware on a robotic Husqvarna AWD Automower, there is always something to learn. There is always a way to get better. We have a team that embraces that thought, and puts it into action.
Customer service was something Florence Glezen nailed. Even a few years into her retirement people are still asking for her to help them. What better than to study under the tutelage of a woman with that kind of respect. This is what we are trying to emulate. We want to serve our customers so well, that they want to come back to US! We want to create relationships because that is how we want to be treated when we go somewhere.
Most of all, we are human. We know that while serving many people and providing services for the public, inevitably, mistakes will be made. We strongly dislike making mistakes, but we know it is going to happen. However, we aren't going to pretend that they don't happen. So, we address it this way as a team: We OWN them. If we make a mistake, we will first own it, then do our best to make it right. We feel this is the most honest and God pleasing way to deal with mistakes. Again, this is how we would like to be treated.
The team cannot wait to see what is in store for us in the future. We look back at the past and it is easy to see decisions that were made that have a profound impact in our day to day now. We are constantly seeking decisions that will be a blessing to us in the future. That’s who we are, a team always trying to get better, willing to fail, relentlessly progressing.
